Common Questions

Why are the serving sizes so large?!

In both our men’s and women’s prenatal, we use more choline, magnesium, and calcium than other multivitamins. These three critical nutrients are BIG but necessary in the quantities we use for healthy day-to-day function and fertility for both sexes, as well as pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Why don’t these prenatals contain iron?

Iron needs and tolerance vary significantly by individual in both men and women. We suggest you monitor your iron status with your healthcare practitioner and if you do need supplemental iron, take it separately in appropriate doses at their recommendation. This way, you don’t risk having iron interfere with the absorption of other critical nutrients in your prenatal.

Why is my urine bright yellow after taking my vitamins?!

Both our men's and women's prenatals contain Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin). The "flavin" component, which is a bright yellow color, is responsible for the change in urine color. Yellow urine does not mean that you are not absorbing those nutrients! It is simply a normal, natural bi-product of this water-soluble B vitamin.

Ingredients at a Glance

Folate

  • Supports normal neural tube formation*
  • Supports baby’s heart, growth, and more*
  • Vital for healthy sperm production
  • Plays a role in synthesizing, repairing, and methylating DNA

The form of this nutrient matters: Regardless of your genetics, it is actually natural folate (not the more commonly used folic acid) that is the most bioavailable form and thus, a critical component in prenatal vitamins. Optimal levels of this essential B vitamin are vital for sperm production due to its role in DNA synthesis, repair, and methylation. Folate can also help to support a healthy pregnancy, and when combined with zinc, it positively impacts sperm health, concentration, shape, and size.*

Find it in food:

  • Spinach
  • Liver
  • Sunflower seeds

Choline

  • Supports normal neural tube formation*
  • Aids placental function*
  • Assists brain development*
  • Supports liver function*
  • Supports arterial blood flow*

90-95% of pregnant moms don’t consume enough choline.* While the body can synthesize choline, the amount we eat is not sufficient to meet our needs. Choline may be required for the synthesis of phospholipids needed as an energy source for sperm motility.* While the body can synthesize choline, the amount we produce is typically not sufficient to meet our needs which is why it should also be obtained through diet.

Find it in food:

  • Liver
  • Red meat
  • Egg yolk

Vitamin D

  • Supports growth and skeletal development*
  • Promotes healthy blood pressure levels*
  • Fortifies baby’s immune system*
  • Can boost testosterone levels*
  • Enhances environment for sperm production*
  • Fortifies immune system*

Vitamin D deficiency is common across all geographic locations, races, sexes, and genders.* The 4,000 IUs in our women’s prenatal is both safe and important for mom and baby. Research has found that a deficiency is more prevalent among men with low semen production, quality, and motility. Vitamin D also supports immune and overall hormone health.

Find it in food:

  • Beef liver
  • Salmon, tuna, sardines
  • Mushrooms
