Common Questions

What is a nervine?

Nervines are herbs that may support the nervous system. There are three categories of nervines: (1) Nervine stimulants that enliven and awaken the nervous system, like ginger, (2) Nervine relaxants that calm the nerves, like lemon balm and chamomile, and (3) Nervine tonics that nourish and support the nervous system, like milky oats.* We combine our favorite pregnancy-safe nervines in a tincture - or a concentrated liquid extract - soaking them in high-proof alcohol to extract the supportive herbal constituents. But don’t worry: the final tincture contains less alcohol than most breads, juices, and ripe bananas.

What is an appropriate dose of Nourished Nerves?

The serving size is 1.4 ml or approximately 2 dropperfuls (the amount of liquid that fills the glass tube when the rubber bulb is squeezed and released). One dropperful is equivalent to half a serving for the Nourished Nerves calming tincture, and each 2-ounce bottle has approximately 42 servings.

How often should I take Nourished Nerves?

Start with one serving (2 individual squeezes of the dropper bulb) 1-3 times daily or as your health practitioner recommends. If you need more sleep support, Nourished Nerves can be taken as 2 dropperfuls 1 hour before bedtime and 1 dropperful just before you put yourself to bed. You can also hold off on that extra pre-bedtime dropperful for if you wake in the middle of the night. Alternative dosing strategies may be recommended by your qualified herbalist or health practitioner. Nourished Nerves can be helpful any time of day, whether you’re looking to calm an excited nervous system or support a smooth transition into sleep.

15-25% Alochol?

15-25% Alochol? This is okay?

Hi Joy, good question! Yes, the alcohol content per serving is about the same as what you would find naturally occurring in a rip banana or glass of orange juice. It's very minimal. The alcohol is important for thie product becuase it helps to extract the useful parts of the plant that nourish the nervous system. It also helps preserve the product.

We have been trying to get pregnant since Sept of last year. It wasn’t until recently I found via blood work I was deficient in vitamin D so love that I’m not take a million different supplements to have an optimal vitamin. This is my 2nd bottle I can say my hair is thriving BUT still not pregnant (YET). Will keep using even after the baby is conceived

Nourished Nerves - best sleep support

I ordered Nourished Nerves out of curiosity. I am not currently pregnant and take CBD from time to time to help me sleep through the night. This stuff knocks me out far better than any CBD I have tried. I will continue to order this and don’t ever want to be without it!

Your answer to sleep

As a new mom, I have found it hard to get a decent night sleep. I have struggled with sleeping through the night even when my baby is. This product is the answer to your sleeplessness. I take the recommended dose before bed and it helps me stay asleep without feeling groggy in the morning. Highly recommend this product for anyone that has difficulties in the sleep arena.
