Allegra Gast is a San Angelo-based RDN, IBCLC, and postpartum doula with a degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She’s honed her work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, fitness centers, and rehabilitation centers. Allegra discovered her passion for helping mothers with their health during pregnancy and postpartum through Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) in Hawaii, and centers her private practice, Aloha Nutrition, exclusively around maternal care.
In order to work with mothers who were struggling to breastfeed, Allegra became certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), the highest credential for breastfeeding professionals. She joins us today to provide extensive insight into the world of breastfeeding, sharing her best professional advice and quick hacks for all new moms who don't have access to a private lactation counselor.
